About Cotton Fiber Insulation
Ultra Touch Natural Cotton Fiber Insulation is made of treated natural cotton and denim fibers. So, it will not itch and you don’t have to wear any special protective clothing while you’re installing it. UltraTouch contains 85% post-industrial recycled natural fibers, meaning that when a factory makes clothing and other things out of cotton and denim, they cut away the material to fit a specific need. The cut-aways were then scrapped - until now!
R-Value: Ultra Provides Maximum Insulating Performance
Ultra Touch is manufactured with tiny air pockes that function as a thermal barrier - even under extreme temperature changes. Ultra Touch's density also helps to provide consistent performance.
Acoustical Properties
Natural Cotton Fibers provide a great sound-absorbing quality, in addition to Ultra Touch's patented manufacturing process, which produces a three-dimensional infrastructure that traps and controls sound waves from common modern noise. Ultra Touch's Acoustical properties makes it a superior insulation choice for apartments, condos or houses that are built in close proximity to each other.
Noise Reduction Coefficient = 115%.
The value of 115% accounts for the laboratory setting where the 3 dimensional sample of UltraTouch, in the attenuation chamber, was measured at 250-500-1000-2000hz. All noise was absorbed.
Installing Ultra Touch
Because Ultra Touch is made entirely of cotton fibers, it needs to be cut in a similar fashion to fabric. We suggest using a large blade, while briefly applying pressure to the edge of Ultra Touch with a piece of 2x4" wood. Please check your state codes for required R-Values for walls, ceilings and floors.
